JENNIFER L. SWEETING

Jennifer L. Sweeting focuses her practice on the areas of Marital and Family
Law, Wills, and Probate. She is trained in Collaborative Divorce; certified by
the Florida Supreme Court as a Family Law Mediator, and has completed the
state-required training to serve as a Qualified Parenting Coordinator. Jennifer
is often appointed by area judges as a Guardian Ad Litem in Leon and
adjacent counties.


She serves on the board of Capital Collaborative Group – a non-profit
an organization composed of legal, financial, and mental professionals who are
dedicated to promoting the non-adversarial resolution of family law conflict
through the collaborative process; and she frequently volunteers as a
mentor in Tallahassee’s Thunderdome, earning the Elizabeth “Bib” Willis
Outstanding Thunderdome Mentor Award in 2020 for mentoring non-family
law attorneys wishing to provide pro-bono family law services to low-income
families. Jennifer serves as a guest lecturer, at Florida State University
College of Law, discussing Alternative Dispute Resolution.


During law school, Jennifer was a member of the Phi Delta Phi legal honors
fraternity, and received the “Book Award” (highest grade in her class) in
Alternative Dispute Resolution for her writings on mediation and domestic
violence. She worked as a Supreme Court Certified Legal Intern at the
Children's Advocacy Center, a non-profit organization representing victims of
domestic violence in all matters of marital and family Law.


Jennifer was born in Lakewood, New Jersey, and relocated to South Florida as
a young child. She moved to Tallahassee in 1996 in order to obtain an
undergraduate degree from Florida State University. She graduated, magna
cum laude, from FSU in 2000 with dual degrees in English Literature and
Legal Communication. Jennifer received her Juris Doctorate from Florida
State University College of Law in 2003 and was admitted to the Florida Bar
the same year.


Jennifer currently resides in Tallahassee, Florida with her husband and two
daughters. When not practicing law, she enjoys spending time with her
family and friends, traveling, and cooking. She is an avid reader of all genres and a dedicated fan of Florida State University athletics. Go 'Noles!
